We will continue assessing student's reading levels with the DRA this week.
We will be going to a theater performance on Tuesday in the PAC. This fits perfectly with our How We Express Ourselves unit.
Don't forget to sign up for a time slot for our upcoming Three Way Conferences next week. The conferences will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd, and Thursday, September 3rd. There will not be classes on those days. Students are expected to come with their parents to decide on goals for the next semester. Watch for more information and a form for parents to fill out coming in your child's homework folder. We will be investigating goal setting this week. Students will be looking at their strengths and what are things they could improve. This will prepare them for the important conversations we will be having during their conference.
After school activities start this week. Students will be very tired after the extended day. Make sure they get plenty of rest! It is a long day for 6 and 7 year olds!
Please remember to send in your family photos and your child's favorite books. We will begin making our digital books this week.
This week the student's will also be bringing home their "ME BAG" assignment. Help your child to find 4-5 THINGS that are important and help to show who your child is. Some examples are flags from their country, medals from sports, favorite toys or games their family plays. Please try to avoid photos.
The students are doing a nice job coming together as a learning team! I am amazed at their super thinking and the mostly caring ways they are treating each other! Go 1P!
