The semester is coming to a close. Your children have worked hard and learned much. I am so proud of each one of them. It is time to relax and take a break. I will be sending home ideas and work to help them keep those hard earned skills. The most important thing for your children is to keep reading. We do not want to lose ground over the break! Raz-Kids is a perfect way to read books at their reading level. I will be going in and changing their levels based on their last assessment. Please have them read over the break. Remember to write down any book that they read or you read to them over the break in their Readathon paper.
This week is a busy week! The students will be practicing for their holiday concert which is on Thursday, Dec. 17th at 9:30 am. Immediately following the concert you are all invited back to our classroom to listen to your child read the book they have written and feel is their best work from this semester. Remember they are beginning authors. The books may look a little messy but they represent many hours of planning, writing, and revising. We will also be sharing a holiday brunch. Thank you to everyone who helped to prepare this special treat.
Friday is a half day of school. The students will be dismissed at 12:20.
Enjoy your summer vacation and see you in February!
